PROJECT MANAGER, SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT - Supervisory Platform Development

This role reports to the Manager of Project Management (R&D). The person in this position will be driving high profile, revenue generating software projects which deliver product to the marketplace. In addition to hands-on execution, this is a leadership role.

The successful candidate will demonstrated the ability to deliver commercial-off-the-shelf software products in a strong matrix organization.

Primary duties will include senior project management with emphasis on traditional methods and the ability to respond to revised product specifications and compressed delivery schedules. The successful candidate will be comfortable with full project accountability and must be able to demonstrate ability to understand and evangelize Wonderware’s software development matrix organization, processes and procedures.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Must possess enough technical understanding to negotiate delivery dates with internal technical groups. Strong skills in estimating techniques, scheduling, risk & change management, and negotiation. Must be self-motivated, pro-active, passionate and productive under pressure.
Position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills. This position requires good presentation skills, including the ability to read and capture audience attention and communicate clearly and effectively. Must have intimate knowledge of and participated in most, if not all, of the software development life cycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain schedules for all project deliverables. This includes collecting task estimates, identifying dependencies and managing resource allocation.

- Manage all project risks and issues

- Interface with System Architect and Development managers responsible for technology components of the product to resolve technical and logistical roadblocks.

- Interface with Quality Assurance organizations to coordinate development schedules with that of testing to ensure end delivery dates are met.

- Interface with Product Marketing group to resolve any requirements issues for the project.

- Act as representative for engineering in cross-functional logistics teams containing members from Marketing, Technical Publications, Service, Supply Chain, etc.

- Track reported defects and assure assignment to appropriate owners.

- Prepare project deliverables for release to manufacturing.

- Assist in adherence to process standards of organization regarding software development lifecycle, e.g. quality reviews take place with appropriate representation from relevant stakeholders.
